I have a very exciting update for you today; the BBC has just announced that there will be a second series of Land Girls, in which Jo will return to play the popular role of Bea:
The daytime drama, set in the 1940s, focuses on a group of women working for the Women’s Land Army during the Second World War.
Jo Woodcock will return to the show as Bea, while Becci Gemmell will appear again as Joyce. Sophie Ward, Mark Benton, Danny Webb, Susan Cookson, Mykola Allen and Liam Boyle will also reprise their roles in the new series.
Meanwhile, the BBC revealed that a number of new characters will feature in the show.
London’s Burning star Clive Wood will join the cast as American businessman Jack Gillespie, while Liam Garrigan will appear as Rev Henry Jameson. Raquel Cassidy, who has previously featured in Lead Balloon and Teachers, will play Lady Hoxley’s sister Diana Granville.
Controller of BBC Daytime Liam Keelan said: “It’s wonderful to have so many of our original cast returning for the second series of our award-winning drama, as well as some exciting new names, too. The first series proved to be hugely popular, pulling in audiences of more than two million with its warm, uplifting but also compelling story.
The series is currently filming in the West Midlands, and the air date is not yet known – but I will be sure to keep you updated.
Just a small update for the time being, I have been fortunate enough to stumble upon an image of Jo appearing in the 2005 theatre production of ‘Great Expectations’ and have added it to the gallery:
More updates are on their way – be sure to let me know if you stumble upon something the site doesn’t yet include!
Later: I have now added nearly 200 images from Jo’s appearance in Agatha Christie: Poirot!
I have added the final batch of Tess of the D’Urberville’s captures to the gallery. I will be working on the other productions Jo has featured in over the following weeks.
I have finally screencapped Jo’s small appearance in the third episode of Tess of the D’urbervilles, the final episode will be added shortly.
Some images from Jo’s appearance in Tess of the D’Urbervilles have been added to the gallery, so far I have added 4 promotional images and screen captures from the first episode. Captures from the remaining episodes will be added shortly.
I have stumbled upon the first official image of Jo in her feature film Powder, it’s her second time on the big screen after Dorian Gray, but it seems her part is going to be more significant in this film, described as -
a film adaptation of Kevin Sampson’s rock and roll novel “Powder” about a small time band that makes it big in the music industry and succumbs to all the evils it has to offer.
The film has no official release date yet, but I will be sure to keep you updated on any news surrounding the production and Jo’s involvement in it!
